Dr. Robin Beran

Describing ophthalmology as his destiny, Dr. Beran personally understands the confidence that clear, lifelong vision inspires. Having watched both his grandfather and mother go blind from macular degeneration, he has dedicated his practice to helping others restore, maintain, and improve their vision. In fact, Dr. Beran has experienced the benefits of refractive error correction and cataract surgery, himself. After undergoing radial keratotomy in 1992 and cataract surgery in 2019, today Dr. Beran enjoys healthy, 20/20 vision and a vastly improved quality of life. And, his ability to still perform microscopic surgery is a testament to the power of ophthalmology and expert care.

Passionate about providing the best quality service to his patients, Dr. Beran is committed to continuing education. He has been certified by many prestigious organizations, including the American Board of Ophthalmology, American College of Surgeons, and the American Board of Eye Surgery. He’s also been recognized as a Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. By integrating the best techniques and most advanced technologies into the repertoire of Columbus Laser & Cataract Center, Dr. Beran is proud to help his patients obtain the excellent vision they deserve.

In his free time, Dr. Beran enjoys team sporting activities, like football and lacrosse, as well as spending time outdoors. Supporting organizations, like Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl, Dr. Beran is proud to give back to nature. Each year he builds duck nesting boxes in his woodworking shop for wildlife in the Ottawa Marsh. Dr. Beran is blessed with a wonderful family and loves spending time with his two grandchildren—his two great joys.
