Dr. Rupa Shah is a highly experienced ophthalmologist with advanced training in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgeries. Utilizing the latest technologies, like premium intraocular lens implants, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and topography-guided refractive procedures, she has helped thousands of patients restore and enhance their vision. Her passion lies in helping each patient achieve their best possible outcome through skill, empathy, and personalized care.

Known for her compassionate and patient-centered approach, Dr. Shah understands that every vision journey is unique. She takes the time to ensure each patient feels comfortable and informed every step of the way. Her extensive surgical expertise and unwavering dedication to excellence have earned her a reputation as a trusted and respected surgeon within the community.

Dr. Shah earned her undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University and completed her Doctor of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University, where she graduated at the top of her class. She completed her transitional year at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and her ophthalmology residency at George Washington University, where she served as Chief Resident. She then pursued a prestigious fellowship in Cornea, Refractive, and External Disease at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before joining Columbus Laser & Cataract Center, Dr. Shah practiced advanced cataract and laser surgery at ReVision LASIK & Cataract Surgery Center and Arena Eye Surgeons. She also served as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University, where she trained residents in advanced, no-stitch cataract surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Dr. Shah lives in Dublin with her husband and two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting with her girls and participating in cultural dance performances during Columbus’ Diwali celebrations.
